Online Drivers Ed

This Freedom Drivers Ed thirty-hour course is required to obtain a learners permit by the age of fifteen. Per Colorado Law, the course can be taken as early as fourteen years, six months of age. However, the permit test cannot be taken until age fourteen years, eleven months. We offer both classroom and a more flexible, online driving course. Contact us to learn more and find out which option is best for you.

Permit testing dates for online drivers ed students are done with classroom students on the 8th session of the curriculum at any of our locations. Call the office to schedule your testing date. The course takes the typical teen driving student one to two and a half months to complete during the school year.

Our online driving course is self-paced and engages the student through readings and videos. Freedom Drivers Ed online is best for teen driving students who prefer to learn independently, are self-driven, and can adequately pace themselves through the online driving course. Many of the students who choose to take our online driving course do not enjoy the engagement of other peers or an in-person instructor.

The online driving course focuses on broad drivers ed topics and not those specific to Colorado Law. For this reason, the best way to prepare for the permit test is to attend our review session prior to taking the test and to read through the Colorado Driver’s Handbook (located on our resource page) before taking the driver’s license test.
